GCSE Biology, Chemistry and Physics - Triple Award (Year 10 and 11)
Pupils need to check with their science teacher as to which science course they are following.
Course Overview
This GCSE course is assessed via exams and “required” practical work. The practical work is carried out during the lesson in assessment conditions. Triple award pupils gain three science qualifications, Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
Outcome: Two exams for each subject
GCSE in Biology, Chemistry and Physics (3 separate GCSE’s)
Each exam is 1 Hour 45 minutes each, there are 6 in total.
Science Support After School
For Year 11 and Year 10 there is a compulsory lesson every Tuesday after school. Extra revision classes for each topic will take place before exams. These will be published and displayed in science laboratories.

Assessment
Six exam modules will be taken over two years. Each paper is worth 25% of that GCSE subject.
- Biology x2 – 1 hour 45 minute exams
- Chemistry x2 – 1 hour 45 minute exams
- Physics x2 – 1 hour 45minute exams
Other information
Pupils who require individual support can speak to the Head of Department to arrange this.
