Uniform
The school strongly believes in an ethical Dress Code for all pupils from the Nursery to Year 11, maintaining the very highest standards of dress and appearance appropriate to the learning environment. Standards will be best achieved by the full commitment of all pupils, staff, parents and Governors to the following agreed principles and practices.
School uniform is perceived by parents, employers and members of the local community as improving discipline, raising standards and reducing peer pressure and bullying. Uniform also instils a sense of identity, community and pride in our school amongst pupils.
We want our pupils to leave Buxton School with the best possible opportunities so it is important that we maintain our good reputation in the local community. We emphasise to our pupils that they are ambassadors for Buxton School, and how they dress, behave, and speak in public has consequences for our public image.
We have a simple ethical Dress Code which appeals to young people, but which is smart and instantly associated with Buxton School.
