Over the weekend, our Year 10 students took on the expedition section of their Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, and all 12 completed it successfully.

The group set out on foot on Friday and spent two days walking their planned route. Midway through the journey, they stopped to camp overnight at High Beech. There, each student helped pitch their own tent and cooked a hot meal for themselves, putting into practice the self-reliance and practical skills the award is designed to develop.

By completing the walking journey and the camping requirements, all 12 students have now passed this section of the award. It was a demanding weekend, and they showed real determination, teamwork and resilience throughout.

The expedition was led by Ms Acons and supported by Mr Pilecki. We are grateful to both for the time and care they gave to making the weekend a success.

Congratulations to all of our Year 10 participants on this achievement. We look forward to following their progress as they continue with the rest of their award.
