For parents/carers of children joining Buxton School
If your child is currently entitled to Free School Meals, you must apply to Waltham Forest Council for their free school meal entitlement to continue BEFORE they start at Buxton School.
Their entitlement will end automatically when they leave their last school, so you will need to pay for school meals until you have re-applied and entitlement is confirmed. You should apply to Waltham Forest Council, even if you live in another Borough. We recommend that you apply as soon as your child leaves their last school to allow plenty of time for processing.
Your application must be completed online at:
If you don’t have access to a computer, you can visit a Library Plus branch in Waltham Forest where you can use a self-service pc to log your request/report. Staff are available to support you if you need it.
Who can get free school meals?
Your child will be entitled to free school meals if they to go school in Waltham Forest, and you or your partner get one of the following:
If you’re a parent or carer and receive Working Tax Credit you’re disqualified from claiming free school meals no matter what your income is.
