A healthy breakfast will give young ones the fuel they need for learning and the energy they need for the physical activities of the day. A good breakfast also helps to avoid the grumbling tummies that cause cravings for unhealthy snacks and poor food choices that can lead to obesity. We also know that attending a school Breakfast Club gets children into good attendance patterns at school and ensures punctuality.
One of the ways that we support parents to achieve this is by subsidising the cost of a breakfast for each child in Reception and Year 7 (with funding from LBWF)
Primary Breakfast Club offers breakfast and daily childcare, Monday to Friday, 7.45-8.55am at Buxton School Primary Phase in the small hall. The current cost is £2.00 per day (£10.00 per week) or £1.70 per day (£8.50 per week) for pupils entitled to free school meals.
Secondary Breakfast Club offers a safe environment, Monday to Friday, 7.30-8.30am in Secondary THASC for pupils to have breakfast, play games, and do homework etc… before school. The current cost depends on what you order. A set menu is available for £1.00 per day which includes a slice of toast with beans or egg and a fruit juice.
Please complete an application form if you wish your child(ren) to join Breakfast Club.
